We had a blast using oil pastel and paint to decorate our leaves!
First, we talked about different parts of a plant: roots, stem, leaf, flower, and fruit. We learned that veins help deliver water and food through the leaf.
Next, we used oil pastel to outline the leaves' edges and the veins. Then, we used fall colors to paint on top of it! They found out that oil resists water so the paint cannot go over the lines they drew! =)
You can find many different leaves if you type 'leaf coloring sheet' in google search box.
Here are some pictures of my students' work.
